The Friends Stars Eerie Final Instagram Post

Nearly a week before Matthew Perry was found dead in his home’s hot tub at the age of 54, the Friends star posted a rather eerie image of himself on Instagram.

In the social media post, Perry is seen hanging out in a hot tub just enjoying a night out. “Oh, so warm water sailing around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” he wrote in the caption. Prior to the post, the Friends star had been teasing fans about potentially being in a Batman film of some kind.

Perry also posted a video of the moon and wrote, “Do you understand what I’m trying to tell you? – I’m Mattman.”

Immediately after Matthew Perry’s death was reported, followers quickly took to Instagram and commented on the post. “Noooo,” one follower declared. “I find it suspicious he posted he posted this in his hot tub a week before he ‘drowned.’”

Another follower wrote, “[5] days ago you posted this, and this is where you post your life today. So freaky.”

Matthew Perry was reportedly found dead in a jacuzzi at an LA home on Saturday (October 28th). Authorities had responded to a call about a man in his 50s suffering from cardiac arrest. There was reportedly no foul play and drugs were not present. The Los Angeles Police Department did confirm the late actor’s death.

Matthew Perry Said He Was ‘Pretty Healthy’ One Year Prior to His Death

While promoting his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing last fall, Matthew Perry told People he had been living a great life after years of addiction struggles.

“I’m pretty healthy now,” Perry declared. However, he then joked, “I’ve got to not go to the gym much more because I don’t want to only be able to play superheroes. But no, I’m a pretty healthy guy right now.”

Although he didn’t disclose how long he’d been sober at the time, Matthew Perry stated he was still counting each day. “It’s important, but if you lose your sobriety, it doesn’t mean you lose all that time and education,” Perry said. “Your sober date changes, but that’s all that changes. You know everything you knew before, as long as you were able to fight your way back without dying, you learn a lot.”

Perry went on to share how he revealed his addiction struggles to his Friends co-stars during the show’s 10-season run. He noted that the castmates were understanding as well as very patient. “It’s like penguins,” the actor explained. “In nature, when one is sick, or when one is very injured, the other penguins surround it and prop it up. They walk around it until that penguin can walk on its own. That’s kind of what the cast did for me.”
